How to Go in Caramoan Islands

If you’re from Naga City, go to Van Terminal in front of SM City Naga and take air conditioned VAN Bound to Sabang Port fare is P100/person and travel time is approx. 1hr and 30 mins. Once you’re in Sabang Port look for commercial boats (Bangka) bound to Guijalo Port fare is P120/person travel time will take 2 hrs. Trips starts and continues more or less 6AM, 7AM, 8AM, 9AM, 10AM and 11AM, with an extra trip up to 2PM but sometimes time not reliable cause it depends on the volume of passengers only. SO THE SUGGESTED TIME IS ON EARLY MORNING AS POSSIBLE!!! (6AM-9AM) to ensure your travel. If can't take the 9AM trip at least make sure you don't miss the regular last trip around 10AM or 11AM otherwise you may need to charter your own boat for Php2500-3,000 if the after lunch irregular schedules will not travel.

MANILA - STOP OVER NAGA - CARAMOAN (VIA BUS)

If you’re from Metro Manila, take air-conditioned bus from Araneta Center Cubao or in Pasay City Bus Terminal bound to Naga, fare is ranging from P700-1,000 depending on the type of bus you choose. Then, once you’re already in Naga Bus terminal (CBD) walks a few meters away going to FILCAB van terminal in-front of SM Naga and follow the steps above.

MANILA (NAIA 3) - NAGA - CARAMOAN (VIA AIRPLANE)

If you want to travel by airplane, there are also direct flights from Manila to Naga/Pili Airport, the Air Philippines and Cebu Pacific fly regularly from Manila Airport Terminal 3, travel time will take 45mins. Once you’re in Naga Airport, take a taxi going to Naga City Van Terminal in front of SM City Naga and from there, look for the Van bound to Sabang or you may ask the taxi from the airport to take you directly to Sabang Port. Air-fare is approximately PhP 1,200-2000, the rates are very volatile and the rules of thumb are the earlier to book the cheaper the tickets. Once you’re in Sabang Port look for commercial boats (Bangka) bound to Guijalo Port fare is P150/person travel time will take 2 hrs.

MANILA-CARAMOAN (VIA BUS AND RORO) Best Choice

There’s also a direct trip from Cubao to Caramoan through Raymond Bus Transport, Penafrancia Tours, RSL Bus, and Isarog Lines, via RORO at Nato, Sangay Cam. Sur. They usually, departs in Cubao at around 6:30-7:00pm and will arrive in Caramoan apprximiately 8:30 in the morning. Fare is around P1, 000 depending on the bus type you choose excluding P200 RORO fare.

LEGASPI-CARAMOAN

Go to Legaspi FILCAB (VAN) terminal or bus terminal and go to Naga City then follow the intruction as stated above on how to travel Naga-Caramoan. Legaspi-Naga fare is more or less P200. Or you may also charter a van or taxi directly bounded Legaspi- to Sabang port travel time is around 3 hours and the special trip fare is varying from P2, 000-3,500. Once you’re in Sabang Port look for commercial boats (Bangka) bound to Guijalo Port fare is P150/person travel time will take 2 hrs.

Island Destination of Gayon Caramoan Travel and Tours

Day 1 Island Hopping

Matukad is one of the small islands in Caramoan. Its shores are covered with fine white sand and walled with spectacular limestone cliffs. It has a lush tropical forest where you can find a small hidden lake at its center.

A dwelling place of mysterious bangus, this lagoon is also hard to reach. You will climb the steep rock: making rock climbing activity as an extreme one. Once you're at the top, you could see the its neighboring islands, the blue wide and deep seawater and this lagoon with green-colored water. As history is concerned, there were two bangus lived here. But a fisherman caught one brought it to his family and prepared it for their supper. But, alas! a tragedy happened. The whole family was found dead. That is why the remaining fish was given an opportunity to live, approximately 30 years until now. Even me, wondered on its cleanliness, for it is surrounded by trees and vines yet no single leaf can be seen. I also tried to step down to its water and I felt it is like a quicksand.

Lahos Island (or Lajos Island)has fine white sand shore like a thin sheet of paper in-between of two identical rocks. During high-tide, it eventually disappears and can only be seen again during low tides. This is where it gets its name, “Lahos” also means “Laho” which is “vanish” in English word.

Cagbalinad Island 2 has a white sand on a small shore but is located at the foot of towering heights of limestone cliffs. Beyond this extended small rocks at the shore, a small cave can be found and unnoticeable at a distance. Its was named after "Cagbalinad trees" that grow here.

Unlike common beaches with white sands, this island has powdery, mixed-white-and-black sand with crystal clear water wherein you will loved swimming, picture taking like jump shot and beach walking activity for you will never be pricked. This island is blessed with gold rock formations and thick forest,sometimes monkeys are seen playing and enjoying their peaceful life.  

Tinago island literally means "hidden island" where you will never see its view from the coastline. Tinago cove is actually a lagoon, being completely surrounded by the now-familiar tall limestone cliffs. The waters leading to the narrow passageway among the limestone cliffs were somewhat rough but once you're inside the cove, the waters become calm. There are three small sandy beaches inside Tinago where boats can dock, making them ideal for picnics. But during low tide and weather is not good, it is difficult to reach. This is not actually included in first day island hopping activity unless you requested it as an special itinerary.  

Tayak Lagoon is separated from the sea by this majestic and naturally-formed rock. The green, still water and its vast forest make it somewhat wonderful and  mesmerizing in the eyes of a true adventurer.

Second to the most expensive beach resorts , Hunongan Cove is considered as Boracay-like in Caramoan. Its Cabanas (small-cute and native but classy houses) give you comfortable and relaxing rest after island hopping. The beach located in-front is suitable for swimming, kayaking and snorkeling. Such wonderful gift of nature, you could interact with flora and fauna and experience their habitat under the deep seawater.
